This shield is a reproduction of the type applied to steam locomotive cabs assigned to passenger train service between 1935 and 1947. Every effort has been made to reproduce an accurate copy of the original. One hundred and twenty five were manufactured, including two which have been applied to CP 2816, an H1b Hudson in special service. The remaining quantity is designated for Trains and Such of Calgary, Alta.

The shield is made of 16 gauge steel with a baked enamel finish on both sides. The dimensions are approximatley 14 inches X 19 inches.
